With 22 years of experience in branding, online community-building and user experience design fields, I’ve had fantastic opportunities to work in many worlds, on many different kinds of project playing many different roles. I’m intimately familiar with the branding evolution, from initial research and focus group events, to launch strategies and public relations. When you bring me on board, you bring a seasoned generalist with the ability to deep-dive wherever you may need me to. I cover the gamut of strategic and tactical, from writing to designing, from prototyping to focus group moderation.
Biography
I’m often asked why I decided to settle down in Dallas. After all, until my Sophomore year in college, my life seemed very exotic – travelling from place to place, studying in Europe and emotional roots harkening back to years in Latin America. My answer is simple – when you stay in one place for a time, you begin to notice the details – the colors and shapes take on a deeper meaning. I’m here in Dallas because a sense of nostalgia, rootedness and belonging give life a deeper texture.
I’ve always been fascinated with the art of the story. I’m not sure why, but even as a kid, some of my earliest joys were of listening to my swash-buckling father weaving a tale about his many death-defying trips into the nethers of the Peruvian jungle. I would spend hours afterwards re-imagining his exploits, with me in them.
The Internet is the perfect phenomena for the distribution of stories and yarns – some commercial, some not. Regardless, I’m here to stay. Not because I love technology, or because I love the constant shift in innovations. I love it because so long as there is no end to people using the Internet, there will be no end to good yarns.
So when you bring me into your team, you’ll be getting a resource with a keen understanding of technology as a means to express your story, not the ends.
